The Miserable Rich

Miserable RichWe caught these guys at the wonderful Manchester Deaf Institute on their recent UK tour with WoodPigeon and the wonderfully quirky Winter Journey. Described by one reviewer as ‘chamber pop’ they are an eclectic line up of acoustic guitar, violin, cello and double bass with heartfelt vocals intertwined into the mix.

The album was recorded entirely in the front room of one of the band members using just a single microphone. This approach can sometimes lead to a stale flat sounding records but the debut release of ‘Twelve Ways to Count’ defies the naysayers with a real sonic depth and energy. The songs find themselves working their way into your day to day life as you realise that daydreaming and humming the melodies once again under your breath when you should really be doing something more productive.
